Today’s back pages: ‘Mane of the moment’ sends Liverpool 22 points clear and ‘Fight of the century’ will happen
A round-up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 25 February
Reds go 22 points clear
Liverpool’s relentless march towards their first Premier League title since 1990 continued last night with a 3-2 win over West Ham United, although they were made to work hard for the three points.
Sadio Mane scored the winner ten minutes from time and the Daily Mirror hails his performance with a clever “Ee-aye Sadio” headline.
The Daily Telegraph goes with “Mane of the moment” and says that Liverpool are now just four wins away from clinching the title.

The Reds’s victory means they have equalled the English top-flight record of 18 successive wins, set by Manchester City from August to December 2017, and have also established a new Premier League record of 21 consecutive home wins.
The only time Jurgen Klopp’s side have dropped points this season was when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United in October.
The Guardian quotes the Liverpool gaffer saying: “It is so special. The numbers are incredible. We all know that it is very special, but at this moment we just want to recover and prepare for the next opponent.”

Fight of the century will happen
The Daily Mirror and Metro report the comments of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn when he was asked by Sky Sports about the possibility of Tyson Fury meeting Anthony Joshua in a mouthwatering heavyweight showdown.
Hearn, who is Joshua’s promoter, said both parties would be “clowns” and “idiots” if they did not make the fight happen.
Although Hearn didn’t put a timeframe on what is already being billed as the “Fight of the Century”, he did say: “Everybody wants this fight… there are some hurdles to overcome on the broadcasting, but nothing too much. I promise you this fight will happen.”
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren told the BBC: “Of course we want to see the fight. We’ve been trying to make it for two years.”
Meanwhile, former WBC champion Deontay Wilder has told US media that he intends to exercise the clause in the contract for a third fight against Fury.
Farah under scrutiny
Last night’s BBC Panorama report on Mo Farah provokes plenty of comment on the back pages with the Metro claiming the Olympic champion is “in the spotlight again” after changing his story.
The Times says that senior figures within UK Athletics “expressed concern” about Farah being given injections of the supplement L-carnitine before the 2014 London Marathon because of doubts it was in “the spirit of the sport”.
According to the Daily Mail, Farah’s appearance on Panorama “made himself appear like a man with something to hide”.
