What is on TV tonight? Sharp Objects, France vs. Belgium and The Voices in My Head
The Week rounds up the best picks for this evening’s television

Tonight’s match between France and Belgium will determine who goes through to the World Cup final, potentially playing England on Sunday. Gary Lineker presents coverage of the first semi-final at Saint Petersburg Stadium from 7pm on BBC One.
Catch up with the highlights of stage four of the Tour de France, featuring a flat 195km journey from La Baule to Sarzeau, at 7pm on Eurosport 1, while highlights from the eighth day at SW19 can be found on BBC Two at 8pm on Today at Wimbledon.
On Sky Atlantic at 10.10pm is Sharp Objects, a new eight-part series starring Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Chris Messina. The drama is based on the debut novel by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn. A troubled newspaper reporter returns to her hometown to write about the murders of two young girls.

In tonight's Horizon: How to Build a Time Machine, scientists consider how humans of the future could potentially travel backwards and forwards in time; as Mark Gatiss notes in his voiceover, this is “science at the very edge of its speculative frontier”.
Meanwhile, at 11.15pm on BBC One, The Voice in my Head follows three people with mental illnesses who hear voices.
Tonight’s best film recommendation is Alien: Resurrection (1997) on FilmFour at 10.45pm. Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley returns as a clone 200 years after the action of Alien, with revolting extraterrestrials still stalking their human prey. “If this is your cup of slime, this jauntily gruesome installment won't disappoint,” says Newsweek.
