1. Parliament recalled to mourn Jo Cox MP

MPs have paid tribute to Jo Cox, the Labour MP shot dead last week. Parliament, which was in recess for the EU referendum, was recalled to remember the Yorkshire MP and the chamber was packed as Speaker John Bercow said they had gathered in "heartbreaking sadness". A white and a red rose were placed in Mrs Cox's usual place on the Labour benches.

2. Pro-Leave Warsi swaps sides in EU referendum

Brexiter Baroness Warsi has swapped sides to support the Remain camp, citing the rise of "nudge-nudge xenophobia". She told the Today programme moderate voices had been "stifled". The Leave campaign tried to play down her previous commitment to their side, but Warsi said this was "disingenuous".

Brexit: Theresa May says ‘trust me’ to deliver

3. Trump: US should consider racial profiling

Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says US law enforcement should think about using racial, religious and ethnic profiling to fight crime. Discussing last week's Orlando shooting, the property developer said that while he hated the concept, it was necessary and "not the worst thing to do".

4. Footballer Ched Evans signs for Chesterfield

Footballer Ched Evans, who will face a retrial on rape allegations this year, has joined League One side Chesterfield on a one-year deal. Evans was jailed in 2012 for raping a 19-year-old woman and served two and a half years in prison. His conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal in April. The 27-year-old has not played football professionally since 2012.

5. Carmakers and economists back Remain

The UK car industry's trade body and leading executives have warned against leaving the EU, saying it would increase costs and threaten jobs. The Premier League football chairman Richard Scudamore has also backed staying in, while ten Nobel prize-winning economists have written a joint letter warning of long-term damage if the UK leaves.

6. Photos of MH370 'debris' posted on internet

A lawyer who has dedicated himself to searching for debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has posted pictures of potential passenger belongings on the internet in the hope relatives may identify them. Blaine Gibson has found around 20 items in Madagascar, including a child's backpack, camera cases, shoes and a laptop case.

7. One person in every 113 is now a refugee

Almost 1% of the world's population are refugees, asylum seekers or have been internally displaced says the UN refugee agency. It says 65.3m people were affected by conflcit in 2015, an increase of 5m on the 2014. It equates to one in every 113 people on the planet. Meanwhile UN refugee chief Filippo Grandi has raised concerns about the "climate of xenophobia" in Europe.

8. Euro 2016: 'High risk' of violence

French police have warned of a "high risk" of violence at today's Euro 2016 match between Russia and Wales in Toulouse. More than 600 extra officers have been drafted in to supplement the existing force of 1,500. Russia was given a suspended disqualification and fined after their fans rioted with England supporters in Marseille on 11 June.

9. Star Trek actor Yelchin dies in freak accident

Star Trek's Anton Yelchin has died at the age of 27 after becoming pinned between his car and a brick mailbox in his driveway early on Sunday morning. The actor, who played Pavel Chekov in the hit films, had been on his way to rehearsals and was found after concerned friends went to his home when he failed to show up.

10. Briefing: Breakthrough skin cancer drugs approved

NHS patients in England and Wales suffering from advanced skin cancer will be the first in Europe to receive a pioneering combination of drugs that could significantly extend their lives. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, which is in charge of approving drugs for the health service, have given the use of nivolumab and ipilimumab the green light. "Often criticised for being slow to approve drugs for the NHS, [it] has moved at record speed," says The Guardian.
