1. Johnson pulls out of Tory leadership race
Boris Johnson has pulled out of the race to become leader of the Conservative Party after fellow Brexit campaigner Michael Gove announced he would stand. Gove's decision came after a leaked email from his wife, Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine, raised concerns about Johnson's popularity with media bosses. Theresa May remains the bookies' favourite to take over.

2. Third runway decision delayed after Brexit
The UK's decision to leave the EU has delayed the decision over a third runway at Heathrow airport. The decision on airport expansion will now not be made until "at least October" says Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin. Heathrow and Gatwick both want to build an extra runway, and airport expansion has been tipped as a key part of Britain's Brexit strategy.
