Delia Smith says aliens do not exist
Delia Smith has cast doubt on the existence of aliens, wading against a growing tide of global belief that extra-terrestrials exist. Writing in her new book, You Matter, the former TV chef says: “Human life. What is it? Why is it?” She then adds: “We've got this immense universe. It takes I don’t know how many billions of years for light to reach this tiny little planet, yet it has human life – the only life we know about in the universe.”

Fruit baskets from 4th century BC found
Baskets filled with fruit from the 4th century BC have been discovered in the submerged ruins of the near-legendary city of Thonis-Heracleion off the coast of Egypt. The doum fruit, which is probably on the turn by now, has lain untouched since the city disappeared beneath the waves in the second century BC, then sunk further in the eight century AD, following a series of natural disasters. A marine archaeologist said: “It was very striking to see baskets of fruits.”
