Police responding to a report of a screaming woman discovered the source of the worrying noise was actually a pet parrot. Steve Wood, 54, said he was initially confused when police showed up at his home in Canvey Island, Essex. “I thought, ‘Oh my god, what have I done?’’” he told BBC Essex. “I opened the door to two laughing police officers and they said, ‘Don’t worry mate, I think we’ve got this one sussed.’’” He said his parrots can be vocal and he’s “surprised” there hasn’t been such a mix-up previously.
