Applications are open for the first heavy metal knitting championships. With both knitting and heavy metal very popular in Finland, the country is excited to be hosting the inaugural event. “When playing guitar as well as knitting stitches it is all about the pleasure of creating something cool with your hands,” said an organiser.
Mummified mice found in Egyptian tomb
Mummified mice have been discovered in a tomb belonging to a husband and wife in Egypt. The burial chamber, which is thought to be about 2,000 years old, included the remains of several birds and animals, including a mummified eagle, falcon, ibex, dogs and cats.

Scuba divers hold underwater wedding in Australia
Two scuba diving enthusiasts got married in an underwater wedding ceremony in Australia. A passer-by, who was walking her dog at Blairgowrie Pier in Victoria, spotted the preparations for the underwater ceremony and grabbed her diving equipment to film the unorthodox nuptials.
