A French primary school has enrolled 15 sheep in a bid to avoid closure. Jules-Ferry school, which is in a small town at the bottom of the Alps, was told that it would have to scale back its lessons because of falling pupil numbers. So a local herder escorted the sheep to the school where they were officially enrolled.
Suspected burglar washed dishes and petted dog in house
A burglary suspect in Ohio petted a dog and washed the dishes in the home she allegedly broke into, says the local sheriff’s office. An eye-witness said the woman was “acting very strange”. The sheriff said she appeared to be “under the influence of narcotics,” and claimed to have been awake for two days.

Australia has printed millions of $50 notes featuring a typo. The note features Edith Cowan, the first woman to serve in Australia's parliament, with a passage from her speech. It quotes her as saying it is a great “responsibilty” to be the first woman in parliament.
