A postman has delivered a parcel with “vital survival” supplies to the correct recipient, even though it was addressed only to “David Easson… somewhere in Sheffield”. The sender provided other clues on the envelope: “Mr Essen’s wife’s name might be Helen, and the couple have a child, or a dog, or both.”
Court cancels $500,000 rock, paper, scissors debt
A $500,000 debt acquired from games of “rock, paper, scissors” is invalid, the Quebec Court of Appeal has ruled. Edmund Mark Hooper is off the hook after the ruling that wagering contracts must be related to activities “requiring only skill or bodily exertion on the part of the parties,” rather than mere chance.

Hospital saves man's life for the second time
A New York man has beaten Covid-19 in the same hospital system that also saved his life as a baby. Adam Lilling underwent an experimental pancreas surgery after he was born in March 1980 at Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Long Island. Forty years later, Lilling spent six days at the hospital after catching the coronavirus.
