Man dies after pot plant liquifies his brain
And other stories from the stranger side of life

A gardener has died as a result of an infection caught from his pot plant which turned his brain into liquid. The 82-year-old man felt weak for two weeks before he was admitted to hospital as the deadly bug took over his brain. Medics say it was caused by free-living amoebas that are commonly found in soil. Previously, a man in Ireland almost died from a flesh-eating bug he caught from a cut on his big toe.
Aliens might live in lakes on the moon
Experts say alien life might be present in lakes on Mars and the moon and humans should start drilling to find it. Astrophysists at Harvard and the Florida Institute of Technology say the Moon and Mars “lack an atmosphere that would allow liquid water to exist on their surfaces, but the warmer and pressurised regions under the surface could allow the chemistry of life in liquid water”.
