Whale’s tail sculpture saves train from crashing

A sculpture of a whale’s tail has saved a train that crashed through a barrier in the Netherlands. A transport operator in the city of Rotterdam said the subway train jumped the tracks and barged through a set of buffers. It would have crashed 30 feet to the ground below had it not landed atop one of two whale tail sculptures next to the tracks.

Dog walks 62 miles to find owners

A family dog in China went on a 62 mile quest to be reunited with her owners after escaping the temporary care she had been left in. After the golden retriever, Ping An, arrived home, her owners said: “Ping An, you have worked hard. You just stay home from now on. [We] would never send you away.”

Top Gear host in world record win

Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness has broken the record for the world’s fastest electric ice cream van at the Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire. His ice cream truck, dubbed Mr Nippy, reached a top speed of 80.04 miles per hour beat the previous record of 73.921 mile per hour, which was set in March by Edd China.
