Woman rescued from soft-toy machine

A 20-year-old woman has been rescued from inside a claw machine, after she drunkenly climbed inside it to steal the soft toys it contained. Authorities say the South Korean managed to get in through a 12ins hole but then got stuck. Rescue workers cut through the side of the machine to free her, before local police charged her with special larceny.

Iceland is importing ice cubes

Consumers in Iceland have been surprised by the revelation that many of the ice cubes sold in local supermarkets are actually imported. According to local media, shipments are coming from Norway, the UK and the US and are being sold for up to 40 per cent less than the locally made cubes. Shoppers have been asked to consider the environmental impact of shipping tons of ice from overseas and to buy the Icelandic product instead.
