Dead brothel owner wins Nevada election

A brothel owner and reality TV star who died last month after a party celebrating his 72nd birthday has won a seat in Nevada’s state assembly. Dennis Hof, who ran as a Republican, defeated his Democratic challenger by more than 7,000 votes. According to state law, county officials will now appoint a Republican to take his place.
Mermaid rescues drowning cow in Thames
A cow was saved from almost-certain death by a woman dressed as a mermaid in Oxfordshire. Lindsey Colew spotted the struggling farm animal in the River Thames while on a 200-mile swim to raise awareness of the environmental effects of plastic. She and her team called the emergency services, who used ropes and a bulldozer to hoist the stricken cow out of the water.

Man wearing Crocs attacked by crocodile
Police in Florida have arrested a man for breaking into an alligator farm and jumping into a pond full of crocodiles. Officers responding to a vandalism report discovered a pair of Croc rubber shoes and discarded clothes in the enclosure. CCTV later revealed a half-naked man entering the pond, before being dragged around the enclosure by a 12-foot Nile crocodile.
