Toni Kroos: Real Madrid to Manchester United
With Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini set to leave Manchester United this summer, the Old Trafford club will be in the market for midfielders. Real Madrid and Germany star Toni Kroos is again linked with a move to United, The Guardian reports, as are Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama, Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri and Napoli’s Jorginho.
Jonny Evans: West Brom to West Ham

Nainggolan turns down Chelsea
Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has revealed he turned down a move to Chelsea because he’s happy in the Italian capital. Quoted by ESPN, the Belgium international told Sport Voetbal Magazine: “I could have gone to Chelsea and other clubs, but starting something new when you are 28, 29, in a new culture, another lifestyle, that’s not for me. I prefer to stay where I feel good.”
Premier League news and talking points
Blind and Young sign new deals at United
Manchester United have extended the contracts of Daley Blind and Ashley Young. Sky Sports says the duo have signed deals until the summer of 2019 after United exercised options in their contracts. Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has also signed a 12-month contract extension.
Sterling contract talks to wait
Manchester City have reportedly told Raheem Sterling that contract talks will have to wait until the end of the season. The England forward, who is 23, has three years left on his current deal, but after a superb campaign he’s looking for a “huge boost” to his wages, The Sun reports. Sterling has scored 20 goals in all competitions for City this season.
United to ‘ditch’ Old Trafford expansion plans
The Daily Mail says that Manchester United will delay plans to expand their Old Trafford stadium to “fuel” a summer spending spree for manager Jose Mourinho. United want to grow Old Trafford to an 88,000-seat capacity from 75,000, but a source told the Mail that the “financial priority is to ensure the manager has the funds he needs to improve his squad”.
