Could Swedish superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic be preparing for a return to European football in January?
According to recent reports, the LA Galaxy forward is “keen to keep himself occupied” during the Major League Soccer (MLS) off-season and could return to one of his former clubs on a loan deal.

At the weekend talkSPORT reported that Manchester United were considering re-signing the 37-year-old, while today Italian outlet CalcioMercato says that AC Milan could make a move. Since leaving Old Trafford for the MLS in March, Ibrahimovic has scored 21 goals for the Galaxy.
Di Maria open to England return
Another player who could return to the Premier League is Argentine winger Angel di Maria. In 2015 the 30-year-old left Man Utd for Paris Saint-Germain after a “disastrous year” at Old Trafford, but with his contract now expiring at PSG it’s claimed he’s “open to coming back to England”. Lorenzo Insigne: Napoli to Liverpool
Lorenzo Insigne’s stunning start to the Serie A season with Napoli has caught the attention of Liverpool. The Italian striker has scored six goals in Serie A so far this campaign and also netted the winner against the Reds in the Champions League group C clash on 3 October. (The Sun)
City set to make £62m bid for De Jong
Manchester City are reportedly “ready to break their transfer record” in a bid to land Ajax and Holland star Frenkie de Jong. The highly-rated midfielder is wanted by a number of Europe’s top clubs including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham. It’s claimed that City boss Pep Guardiola told Ajax he would pay the big fee for the 21-year-old. (The Sun)
Toby Alderweireld: Tottenham to Man Utd/Barcelona
Manchester United and Barcelona are ready for a transfer battle to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian, who is 29, has less than one year left on his Spurs contract and Barca could make a move in January. United have long been linked with Alderweireld. (Daily Mirror)
Shaw set to sign new deal at United
Man Utd are close to securing left-back Luke Shaw on a long-term contract. It’s reported that the 23-year-old will become United’s highest-paid defender when he signs the new £160,000-a-week five-year deal. (The Times)
Trio target Dzeko
Roma striker Edin Dzeko is wanted by Southampton, Crystal Palace and Cardiff. The Bosnia and Herzegovina star, who scored twice last night against Northern Ireland, played for five seasons at Manchester City and has a “willingness” to return to the Premier League. The 32-year-old said: “It’s probably too late for me to return to the Premier League, but you never know. We’ll see.” (Daily Mirror)
