Have you been paying attention to The Week’s news?
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has dominated headlines and screens this week as the world watched in horror following Vladimir Putin’s order for an unprovoked attack on his eastern European neighbour.
Major cities were bombarded by Russian shelling, while Moscow’s troops on the ground stalled after being met by fierce resistance from an outgunned Ukrainian army.
Russian troops appear to be attempting to encircle Kyiv, the capital city. But President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has rapidly become a symbol of Ukraine’s pride and spirit, remains defiant, stating that his troops will “neutralise” the enemy.
