According to now-infamous ObamaCare advisor Jonathan Gruber, the Affordable Care Act was never going to live up to its name. As part of the investigation into Gruber's statement that ObamaCare passed because of "the stupidity of the American voter," it has been revealed that as early as 2009 Gruber concluded the program would not be affordable, saying:
The problem is it starts to go hand in hand with the mandate; you can't mandate insurance that's not affordable. This is going to be a major issue. [Daily Caller]
In the same lecture, Gruber advised passing the bill without regard for costs and then working for cost control at a later date. You can read his full comments here.
