Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) on Wednesday blasted the CIA for misleading lawmakers investigating the agency's use of torture under former President George W. Bush.
Citing details from a classified 2011 document not contained in the Senate's CIA torture report, Udall said there was clear evidence the CIA was still being dishonest about its interrogation program. And he called on President Obama to "purge" the CIA of everyone linked to torture.
"Director [John] Brennan and the CIA today are continuing to willfully provide inaccurate information and misrepresent the efficacy of torture," he said. "In other words: The CIA is lying." --Jon Terbush
