Police arrest man for pointing a banana at them

Police in Colorado arrested a man this week, saying they feared for their lives because he pointed a yellow weapon at them:
"I immediately ducked in my patrol car and accelerated continuing northbound, fearing that it was a weapon," [one officer] wrote in the affidavit, which lists [the two cops] as victims. "Based on training and experience, I have seen handguns in many shapes and colors and perceived this to be a handgun." [The Daily Sentinel]
The "gun" in question was actually a banana, and the man wielding it yelled, "It’s a banana!" when he saw the police becoming alarmed. He was still thrown in jail for "felony menacing."
