Amid the jubilation that greeted the Philae spacecraft landing on a comet earlier this week, there was an uproar over a scientist on the Rosetta Project who wore a shirt with semi-naked women on it during the European Space Agency's livestream of the event. The controversy over Matt Taylor's shirt had particular relevance given the reputation for gender inequality in the fields of science and technology.
Taylor has now apologized, saying it was a "big mistake."
