In his 15-year professional soccer career, Landon Donovan made 157 appearances with the U.S. national team and scored 57 goals (a national team record). On Friday, the 32 year old played in his final game for the team, a friendly between the U.S. and Ecuador.
Donovan didn't score, but when he was substituted off toward the end of the first half, the standing ovation seemed to be victory enough. The soccer legend gave plenty of claps and waves back to his fans, shook hands with fellow players and doled out hugs.
