As the great Elton John once sang: "Hold me closer, tiny dancer — yeeeeah, boy!" Ok, so he didn't quite say that. But hopefully that's how Public Enemy hype man and timepiece enthusiast Flavor Flav performs it with his cover band, Flavor Flav & the FlavorTronZ.
Mr. Flav fronts a group of "incredible musicians that will surely be a cover band in demand," according to the band's talent agency, which adds that they perform "hit songs from the 70s thru the 90s" including "such greats like Wild Cherry, Sly & The Family Stone, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Gap Band and many others."
As Brooklyn Vegan points out, the FlavorTronZ will headline two shows at a New York City jazz club in April, because nothing says "jazz" like a quinquagenarian Flavor Flav shouting Robert Plant's lyrics.
