Jon Stewart gets biblical on Mike Huckabee's anti–gay marriage musings

Jon Stewart hadn't planned to take on recent Daily Show guest and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's (R) thoughts on gay marriage. But for reasons he explains below, Stewart and his staff had to scramble to put together a show after the Obama administration ruined their weekend's work an hour before taping. In recent interviews, Huckabee discussed his opposition to same-sex marriage, placing it in biblical terms that Stewart found risible, citing other rules passed down via Leviticus: "It's why Huckabee never mixes fabrics, or trims his beard, or sleeps with another man's slave."

Huckabee hit a nerve, though, when he brought up Jewish people and bacon-wrapped shrimp (he also weakened his argument). The part where Stewart talks with a shrimp wrapped in bacon may not be the funniest thing The Daily Show has ever come up with, but it's not bad for an hour's work. —Peter Weber
