David Lynch is returning to Twin Peaks after all

The conflict that led to David Lynch pulling out of Showtime's planned revival of Twin Peaks has apparently been resolved. Late on Friday night, Lynch took to Twitter to announce, in characteristically cryptic style, that he had rejoined the Showtime's Twin Peaks:

In a statement, Showtime president David Nevins confirmed the news. "[David Lynch] will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours," said Nevins. "Preproduction starts now!!"

Lynch originally dropped out of the Twin Peaks revival under murky circumstances in early April. At the time, he tweeted that "not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done." Showtime replied with a statement saying that it was "working toward solutions" to bring Lynch back to the negotiating table.
