Cardinal Timothy Dolan made a big deal out of unveiling the chair that Pope Francis will sit in during his visit to New York next week, and Stephen Colbert respectfully made fun of him for it on Thursday's Late Show. But "more than anything," Colbert said of the pope, "I want him to come on my show." So to entice His Holiness, Colbert showed off his own papal chair, just in case. If the chair's not enough of a pot sweetener, "if you come when you're in the city next Friday night, you'll get a chance to meet Kerry Washington," Colbert said. "She's cool." Well, if Jim Gaffigan can land a gig in front of the pope, maybe there's hope for Colbert. Peter Weber
