On Feb. 7, a male leopard wandered into a school in Bangalore, India. It took 10 hours, several tranquilizers, and many people, six of whom were mauled in the process, to capture it. The leopard was caged and brought to the Bannerghatta zoo in Bangalore. Late Sunday, the 100-pound beast squeezed out of the narrow bars of its iron cage. Teams of officials are on the hunt for the leopard and remain hopeful that it has not traveled too far. An inquiry is underway as to how the leopard managed to escape.
