Lady Gaga described her tribute to David Bowie during the Grammy Awards as a colorful expression of the late singer's magic.

Gaga said without Bowie, she wouldn't have felt "free enough to become Lady Gaga," and the performance was made possible due to the scientists ("who are artists in my opinion") behind the technology she used for the big show (which included a giant screen, hits like "Fashion," "Heroes," and "Ziggy Stardust," and multiple costume changes).
