Bernie Sanders is poised to nearly double last month's impressive fundraising haul

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has big plans for Leap Day. The Democratic presidential candidate has already raised an impressive $36 million in February, but his campaign is aiming even higher — and hopes to bring the month's fundraising total up to $40 million by the end of the day.
If Sanders manages to raise $4 million in 24 hours, it would just about double his $20 million fundraising take from January, which was comprised of small donations from more than 770,000 donors with an average contribution of just $27. And Sanders has made quick fundraising gains like the one he's hoping for Monday before: In the 24 hours after winning the New Hampshire primary, the socialist senator raised $6.4 million.
Since Sanders launched his campaign 10 months ago, he has reportedly raised $94.8 million — not including February.
