Barack Obama is itching to know Jon Snow's fate as much as the rest of us are — only, being the president of the United States, he asked HBO for advanced screeners of Game of Thrones to watch before it actually airs on April 24. "I think, for both of us, finding out the president wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'ah-ha' moment. That was a very strange moment," producer Dan Weiss said, according to The Hill.
While the Game of Thrones team is famously tight-lipped about upcoming seasons, they agreed they had to comply with the president's request. "He's the leader of the free world. When the commander in chief says, 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you going to do?" Weiss pointed out.
Actor Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos, has hinted before that Obama gets early access to the season. "He gets DVD copies before we do. And we're in it!" Cunningham said.
