The co-founders of Dolce & Gabbana are once again paying "less-than-subtle tribute" to their Italian heritage, says Brooke Bobb at Vogue. The D&G special-edition FAB28 ($34,000) might remind you of a Sicilian market cart or marionette theater, though fans of the fashion house might recognize also the iconography from patterns that have shown up on the runway. One hundred of the hand-painted Smeg fridges have been produced, each one unique in design, and the collection debuted in Milan earlier this month. The partnership with Smeg, a Po Valley appliance maker, was a natural, said Stefano Gabbana, because both companies share "a love of Italy, and Italian-made products."
