While Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) says he isn't ready to commit to a running mate of any gender, he told MSNBC's Morning Joe Tuesday that he thinks it would be a "great idea" to have a woman fill the role. "The women of this country, the people of this country understand it would be a great idea to have a woman as vice president and something I would give very, very serious thought to," Sanders said.
When pressed to name names, Sanders revealed that though there are "many women" who are qualified, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is one woman in particular he'd consider. "But I think, as you know, there are people in life today, Elizabeth Warren, I think, has been a real champion in standing up for working families, taking on Wall Street," Sanders said.
Warren has yet to endorse either candidate in the Democratic presidential race.
