Samantha Bee bids a sad farewell to Ted Cruz, the 2016 candidate she loved to hate the most
On Monday's Full Frontal, Samantha Bee caught up with the big story in politics. "We were all blindsided by Ted Cruz suspending his campaign, no one more than me," she said. "I think you know what that man meant to Full Frontal." She ran through a highlight reel of various mean names she has called Cruz, then sadly joked that she had only gotten through page 3 of the Ted Cruz Thesaurus. "But you know what?" she said. "Respect to Ted Cruz for fighting the good fight against the asteroid that just destroyed a party of dinosaurs."
Like anyone trying to relive the good times, Bee recapped Cruz's last days on the campaign trail, including a pretty entertaining bit where she cast the 2016 contenders as Back to the Future characters. She ended the memorial segment with a Cruz-trashing song from Michelle Branch, but not before giving him her own sendoff: "Godspeed you terrifying, fundamentalist swamp Reagan." Watch all that below, plus a big kick in the groin to John McCain. Peter Weber
