Hillary Clinton is crushing Donald Trump in battleground state advertising

Compared to Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump looks like he's hardly even trying to win the battleground states. While Clinton has spent a whopping $43 million on ads across nine battleground states, Trump has dropped a mere $929,000 — a margin of 46-to-1, NBC News points out. The states included in the tally are Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania.
In three of the states, Trump's spending comes to a grand total of zero dollars. Clinton's lowest spending total, in comparison, is $781,241 in Pennsylvania — nearly the amount of Trump's entire tab. However, when spending on national ads is added into the mix, Trump fares slightly better: He only lags behind Clinton nationally by a 15-to-1 margin, $45 million to $3 million.
Still, if his June fundraising numbers are any indicator, Clinton had better watch her back lest Trump sneak up on her. In the last five weeks, Trump upped his fundraising haul by nearly $50 million.
