Republican National Convention speakers include senators, athletes, and all the Trumps
The Republican National Convention will feature appearances from nearly every member of the Trump family, several of Trump's former rivals, sports stars, and billionaires, The New York Times reports.
The Times obtained a copy of the speaker roster, and it was confirmed by two people with direct knowledge of the convention planning. Trump aides say the presumptive Republican nominee is still inviting people to the event, and sources told The Times the list could change at any moment. The convention will kick off Monday with a Benghazi-focused night, with speakers including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; Trump's wife, Melania; and Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst. Tuesday night's theme is the economy, and will feature remarks from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Tiffany Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.
Night three's speakers include former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), Eric Trump, and the yet-to-be-determined vice presidential nominee, and the convention will end Thursday night with former quarterback Tim Tebow, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, entrepreneur Peter Thiel, Ivanka Trump, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, and Trump himself. Not on the list are several people Trump said he was going to invite, including promoter Don King, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
