American gymnast Simone Biles won a gold medal for the women's individual all-around on Thursday. Her work on the balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault earned a cumulative score of 62.198 — over two points higher than silver-medal winner and teammate Aly Raisman. Russia's Aliya Mustafina took the bronze with a score of 58.665. After the second rotation, Biles was in second place, but her trademark balance-beam routine gave her a huge lead going into her final event on the floor, where she scored an impressive 15.933. Biles previously won the gold for the women's team all-around, along with the rest of the "Final Five." The 19-year-old, who has been one of the stars of the Rio Olympics, still has three more opportunities to medal.
