Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Monday in his first appearance on the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton. Biden will appeal directly to working-class voters, The Los Angeles Times reports; it's a return to form for the vice president, who bolstered President Obama's economic case with the same demographic during the 2008 and 2012 elections.
Biden will also speak on foreign policy, presenting a contrast to Donald Trump's planned terrorism speech, which will also take place Monday.
The Rust Belt town of Scranton is a natural spot for the joint appearance between the vice president and Democratic nominee, as Clinton's father was born there as well. Biden is expected to spend the coming weeks campaigning for Clinton in Ohio, Michigan, and Florida.
