Donald Trump pledges to 'reject bigotry and hatred and oppression in all its forms'

Donald Trump pledged on his Facebook page Tuesday that as president, he will support each and every American, no questions asked.

"This is my pledge to the American people: As your President I will be your greatest champion," Trump wrote. "I will fight to ensure that every American is treated equally, protected equally, and honored equally. We will reject bigotry and hatred and oppression in all its forms, and seek a new future built on our common culture and values as one American people."

It's a different kind of message for Trump to post online; typically, he uses social media to blast his opponents or just share random musings. The Republican presidential nominee has been called out by Democrats and Republicans alike for some of his controversial comments — after Trump questioned if a judge of Mexican heritage could give him a fair trial, House Speaker Paul Ryan called his remarks the "textbook definition of racism," and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), after Trump dubbed her "Pocahantas," has said he's a "thin-skinned, racist bully." Of course, there's also a chance this pledge could be sarcasm, or merely a suggestion.
