Chris Christie slams Trump's 'indefensible' comments — while reiterating his support for the nominee

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) admitted Tuesday that while he can't defend Donald Trump's graphic comments about women, captured on an audio tape released Friday by The Washington Post, he's still going to defend the Republican nominee in the presidential race. "On the video itself, let's be really clear, it is completely indefensible. And I won't defend it and haven't defended it," Christie said, while co-hosting WFAN's Boomer and Carton Show in New York City.
In the tape, which was recorded in 2005, Trump can be heard talking about grabbing women by their genitals and bragging about how his celebrity status lets him do whatever he wants with women.
Christie made it clear in the Tuesday interview that he wasn't impressed by Trump's apology either. "I would've done it much differently," Christie said, noting that he emphasized to Trump when the video first emerged that he needed to be "contrite and apologetic."

Still, Christie insisted he was sticking by Trump. "I do think he's sorry, and I do think he's embarrassed by it," Christie said.
