Trump calls Las Vegas attack an 'act of pure evil'

President Trump called the Las Vegas attack an "act of pure evil" in an address Monday morning, and confirmed that he would be traveling to the city to visit first responders, victims, and families on Wednesday.
"Scripture teaches us that the Lord is close to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit," Trump said, adding that "our unity cannot be shattered by evil, our bonds cannot be broken by violence."
At least 50 people were killed and more than 400 injured when a Las Vegas man identified as Stephen Paddock opened fire on thousands of concertgoers from his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Sunday night. Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive.
