Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are making that McDonald's Monopoly scam into a movie

There's a reason you didn't ever win the McDonald's Monopoly game, and it's because one man rigged the system.
On Saturday, The Daily Beast unveiled the story of a former policeman who ran a wild scheme that won him millions from the sweepstakes game. The unbelievable saga took off, and it'll soon be available on the big screen courtesy of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
Fox is likely to win the rights to the rollercoaster of a story, Deadline is reporting. Affleck will direct the film, Damon will star, and their Pearl Street company will produce. Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are signed on to pen the script.

The Daily Beast story only came out five days before Fox picked it up, but bidding competition was still fierce. Universal had Kevin Hart, Warner Bros. had Steve Carell, and Netflix had Robert Downey Jr. all ready to produce, respectively, if they had won the story's rights, per Deadline. But Damon and Affleck proved a winning combination — rivaled only by Boardwalk and Park Place.
