Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen (Nev.) has unseated incumbent Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), in the first Senate pickup for Democrats during a tough night. Heller conceded the race after CNN and other news organizations projected Rosen's victory.

This had been one of the most closely watched races of 2018, and Heller was widely considered the most vulnerable Republican senator in the country. Hillary Clinton carried Nevada in 2016, and he just barely won his first term in 2012 by about 1 percentage point. With Rosen victorious, Nevada becomes the seventh state historically and fifth state currently to be represented by two female senators, as Rosen noted in her victory speech. Peter Weber
