Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds won her first full term on Tuesday, defeating Democratic businessman Fred Hubbell in a tight race. Reynolds took over from Gov. Terry Branstad (R), who became ambassador to China. Even as Republicans held the Iowa governorship, Democrats picked up two House seats, giving the party three of Iowa's four House districts. In Iowa's 1st Congressional District, Democrat Abby Finkenauer unseated Rep. Rod Blum (R), and in the 3rd District, Democrat Cindy Axne defeated Rep. David Young (R). Rep. Steve King (R) kept his 4th District House seat, and in the 2nd District, Dave Loebsack (D) won re-election.
