A second live-action Star Wars show is in the works
For Star Wars fans, Disney's new streaming service is a deal that's getting better all the time.
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Thursday that a new TV series about Cassian Andor, actor Diego Luna's character from the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is now in development. This show will be an original exclusive to Disney's upcoming Netflix competitor, which has now been given the name Disney+.
Luna is reprising his role for the show, which will be set prior to the events of Rogue One. It's described as a "rousing spy thriller" that will "explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire."

There's no release date set for the series, although it will begin shooting next year. This is in addition to The Mandalorian, a previously-announced Star Wars live-action series. That one is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, and as it's currently in production, it looks likely to release alongside the late 2019 launch of Disney+.
