New York state regulators subpoena the Trump Organization's insurance broker, days after Cohen suggests misconduct

In addition to serving as the impetus for the sweeping request for documents made by the House Judiciary Committee on Monday, it appears that the testimony provided last week by Michael Cohen has led to tangible results in the insurance realm, as well.
During Cohen's testimony, when prompted by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), President Trump's former personal lawyer said that the Trump Organization inflated the value of its assets to insurance companies. On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that New York State regulators have issued an "expansive" subpoena to Aon, the Trump Organization's longtime insurance broker.
The Aon subpoena is not part of a criminal investigation and the Department of Financial Services does not have authority over Trump or his company, but it can refer any possible illegal activity to prosecutors, per the Times.

The subpoenaed documents consist of anything related to the Trump Organization's business with Aon. The insurance company stated that it intends to cooperate with the review. Read the full report at The New York Times.
