In a unanimous vote, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution on Tuesday that directly links the National Rifle Association to the "epidemic of gun violence" in the United States and classifies the group as a "domestic terrorist organization."

The resolution's sponsor, Supervisor Catherine Stefani, told USA Today that by opposing gun control, the NRA is "standing in the way of saving lives." The resolution calls on the city to avoid doing business with the NRA or associated groups, declaring that the NRA "spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence."
