There's further proof that President Trump is warping the truth about John Bolton's departure.
Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that he'd asked his national security adviser for his resignation the night before, prompting a wave of swift comebacks from Bolton, who said he'd chosen to resign that morning. Fox News' John Roberts later got ahold of Bolton's resignation letter, which is dated as if it was sent Tuesday and contains a presumably petty message.
It's odd that Bolton would've put Tuesday's date on his resignation letter if, like Trump claimed, he had actually tendered his resignation the night before. Sure, Trump didn't make former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley's resignation public for nearly a week after she'd written it, and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions submitted a mysteriously undated letter he apparently carried around for half a year. But then again, Trump doesn't have a good record when it comes to reading goodbye messages.
