Matthew Broderick portrays Mike Pompeo on SNL as Trump officials try to figure out how to handle impeachment
Saturday Night Live spoofed impeachment once again during Saturday's episode's cold open.
Alec Baldwin was nowhere to be seen this time around, however, as SNL's version of President Trump was apparently off meeting alligator breeders to fill a moat around the under-construction border wall. That left Beck Bennett's Vice President Mike Pence in charge. Pence attempted to strategize for a counter to the impeachment inquiry with Aidy Bryant's Attorney General William Barr, Kate McKinnon's Rudy Giuliani, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, portrayed by surprise guest star Matthew Broderick, who threw in a few, self-referential lines sure to make John Hughes fans chuckle.
Nobody was much help to Bennett's Pence, however, and one by one the three of them trickled out of the room, leaving the vice president to discuss a plan with White House senior adviser Stephen Miller, who was depicted as a snake speaking what could only be parseltongue.
