Disney+ is getting a Star Wars game show hosted by the actor who played Jar Jar Binks
Star Wars is taking its first step into the world of ... game shows?
Apparently so, as a new Star Wars series is headed to Disney+ called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a game show that "will test young contestants' abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight."
The host of this youngling-centered series is none other than Ahmed Best, the actor who played Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Best has previously opened up about having received death threats after his controversial character drew intense backlash at the time, saying he contemplated suicide. He tweeted Tuesday that "in my most challenging times, it was always the smiles and energy of kids that loved #jarjarbinks who lifted me up," describing this show as an "opportunity to give back to them."

Best will "play a Jedi Master and mentor to the contestants," and he'll be joined by a "humanoid droid companion" played by Mary Holland, according to the announcement. The show is set to hit Disney+ in 2020.
This is the latest Star Wars series to head to Disney+ after the ongoing The Mandalorian and the upcoming live-action series centered around Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor, as well as another season of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Jedi Temple Challenge is something brand new, though, potentially teasing plenty of wildly different Star Wars streaming projects to come. As this show may highlight, truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.
