It was only a matter of time before sparks truly started to fly during what was always a tense day in Washington.

One of the more explosive moments during the debate before the House vote on two articles of impeachment Wednesday came after Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said the impeachment proceedings were a way for Democrats to stop the Justice Department and Ukraine from investigation Ukraine's interference in the 2016 presidential election. The comments prompted a "deeply concerned" House Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) to accuse the congressman of spewing "Russian propaganda on the floor of the House."
