Mank leads the 2021 Golden Globe nominations

The COVID-19 pandemic might have forced movie theaters to shutter globally last year, but the Golden Globes are going forward — and the nominations for this year's unusual ceremony are here.
The Golden Globe nominations were announced Wednesday morning, and Netflix's Mank was the most nominated movie, scoring six nods including Best Motion Picture - Drama. Its director, David Fincher, was also nominated, as were its stars Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried.
The other nominees for best drama film were The Father, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, and The Trial of the Chicago 7. Meanwhile, the nominees for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy were Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Music, Hamilton, Palm Springs, and The Prom.

In the television categories, The Crown, Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Ozark, and Ratched were nominated for Best Television Series - Drama, while the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category consisted of Emily in Paris, The Flight Attendant, The Great, Schitt's Creek, and Ted Lasso.
It was a great morning for Netflix, as the streamer led the nominations with 22 nods for films and 20 for television, according to The Wrap. The Crown was also the most nominated TV series.
Details on what, exactly, the 2021 Golden Globes will look like amid the pandemic still haven't been fully revealed. But Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are set to host from two different locations across the country, Variety reports, with Fey broadcasting from New York and Poehler from California. The ceremony is set for Feb. 28.
